Arranging a Holy Mass Online
The Mass of Saint Gregory, Unknown Spanish Master, c. 1490-1500
Every day thousands of Catholic Priests all over the world offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for the soul of a faithfully departed or for the intentions of living people. It is customary for parishioners to arrange for their Parish Priest to offer a Mass on the anniversary of the death of a loved one, or for particular needs in their life such as recovery from illness, study or thanksgiving, relief from persecution or the conversion of others. A small stipend is usually paid for the Holy Mass.
There are a number of Pius Associations that enable a Holy Mass to be arranged online, and commonly the Mass is arranged to be offered by a Priest in the missions or poorer nations as a means of supporting their work.
A number of links are provided on this webpage.
The Seraphic Mass Association

The Seraphic Mass Association was established in 1929 to assist American Capuchin missionaries in China and Puerto Rico. By the late 1950s, the Association was supporting projects and programs in scores of nations.
Offerings made for a Mass for a specific intention are sent directly to Capuchin missionaries, to provide for the needs of the brothers and the pastoral needs of the people they serve. For some, it is the only source of financial assistance for everything that is needed in the missions.
The Seraphic Mass Association is dedicated to supporting Capuchin missionaries around the world. They invite ordinary Catholics to participate in the mission work of the Church by their prayers, interest and concern, and financial support for Capuchin missionaries and the people they serve. Through Mass offerings and general donations, there is a special focus on Capuchin missionaries who labour in the most challenging circumstances. The Association website includes information about the projects of the Capuchins around the world including in Papua New Guinea, Puerto Rico, China, India, Tanzania and Kenya.

Aid to the Church in Need was founded at the end of the Second World War to offer relief for exiled Priests and Catholics in Germany, and it has grown into an international relief organisation with 23 national offices and over 350,000 benefactors. It is the only international Catholic charity dedicated to the service of suffering Christians wherever they are persecuted, oppressed or in pastoral need. Aid to the Church in Need is a spiritual and pastoral charity which seeks to keep the flame of faith alive in those places where it is at risk of extinction.
Aid to the Church in Need operates an efficient online method of arranging Mass offerings to assist Priests in poor regions of the world. Each year some two million Mass offerings are sent to needy dioceses and Priests.
Aid to the Church in Need also provides a good explanation of Mass offerings and how they provide stipends to Priests.

Our Lady of Lourdes is a title of the Blessed Virgin Mary recalling her apparitions in 1858 in the grotto at Lourdes, France to Saint Bernadette Soubirous (1844-1879), a fourteen-year-old peasant girl. Our Lady instructed Bernadette to dig in the ground nearby, from which came a spring with healing properties, active to this day. At the grotto the Blessed Virgin showed herself 18 times to Bernadette and under the title "the Immaculate Conception," she called for penance and prayer for the conversion of sinners. After a thorough investigation, the apparitions were approved for devotion by the Catholic Church in 1862.
The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, also named the Upper Basilica, is the oldest shrine at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. Consecrated in 1876, this basilica is one of three basilicas at Lourdes, along with the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary (consecrated 1901) and the Basilica of Saint Pius X (consecrated 1958). These shrines remain popular places of pilgrimage and healing.
The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes accepts online Mass offerings. There are about 25 “chapelains” - Priests - serving in the Sanctuary of Lourdes. They are the guardians of the chapel which the Virgin Mary requested from Bernadette Soubirous during the 13th apparition on 2nd March 1858. They belong to a variety of religious communities and dioceses, and come from various countries such as France, Italy, Benin, Argentina and Sri Lanka. They are under the direction of the rector, and are responsible for the pastoral care of the Sanctuary and for welcoming pilgrims from all over the world.
